I have received from hkyongnuophotoequipment (2) Yongnuo YN-560 flashes for testing and review

Here how it compares in size to the older YN-460 series speedlites

Some Breif Notes On The YN-560
+1 On it’s size, and build quality. It does not feel cheaply made
+1 On the super fast recycle times (Under 2 seconds on full power)
+1 On the new optical slave flash sensor (Works great even with lower power flash settings from the main flash)
+1 On the new battery door
+1 On the rubber door covering the sync input, and ext battery input (Does not feel like it’s going to break anytime soon)
+1 Because of the angle of the flash itself, It does have a slight lower angle to it. 1 click upwards to brings it a straight level
+1 Because of the length of it’s zoom head. It fits nicely inside those 16? ebay beauty dishes, and portable soft boxes
+1 The head moves freely with clicks, No side buttons to press like the canon

The body of the flash now also covers part of the on/off switch of an RF-602 receiver.
Powers on like the YN 460 II, Need to hold down power button to all power led’s light up, reverse for shutting down.
You can barely hear the the little chime for when flash is ready.
Zoom head is noisy. But then so are most of them.
The PC socket is pushin type, not screw in type

Here is how it fits into those standard ebay beauty dish, and portable softbox brackets

Here are the Light Meter test results that I preformed

Now this is one nice size flash, With a lot of power for it’s size.

Now what I like about the YN-560
It’s size, It’s power, It’s simple to set and use
If this flash could only turn on my coffee pot in the morning

Now what I don’t like about the YN-560
HK Yongnuo only sent me 2, I really need 6

Now would I recommend this flash to my friends in the flickr strobist group
I surely will, and also say that’s it’s one of the best deals so far
Several Ebay sellers are already selling them starting at $84.95
But with only 3-30 day return warranties.

hkyongnuophotoequipment is now listing them on ebay for only $85.99,
But you will get a full 1 year warranty with your purchase.

The Kurbster gives Yongnuo’s newest flash

Thanks for taking your time to read my simple review of the Yongnuo YN-560
